Deze maand: * Lunchlezing - Immediate Architecture: clickfab.com and protoTAG Lunchlezing - Immediate Architecture: clickfab.com and protoTAGIn the man-made environment almost all things are part of a bigger structure. Or they are themselves structures made out of smaller parts. The complex reality of assembled structures however gives us problems and offer opportunities which are often overseen. In digital fabrication we have many options for fabrication of one-piece objects. Reaching beyond the rapid fabrication of singular objects, new logistics of part-assembly fabrication can help experts as well as unskilled users to manage existing and future structures of objects in simple and unprecedented ways. These possibilities will be explored hands-on with the clickfab.com and protoTAG.
ProtoSpace en educatieDe Ultimaker, een zelfbouw 3D printer, wordt binnenkort op technasia gebruikt in het onderwijs. Een technasium is een Gymnasium met de nadruk op techniek. In een 2-daagse workshop wordt in een team van 2 tot 4 docenten een Ultimaker gebouwd. Deze wordt vervolgens gebruikt in het lesprogramma. Deze week is de eerste workshop voor technasia docenten. Totaal zijn er 70 technasia in Nederland. Dutch Design Week & Toulouse FabLab ConferenceTijdens de Dutch Design Week [22 tot 30 oktober] organiseren alle FabLabs in de Benelux diverse workshops. De verschillende workshops worden binnenkort gepresenteerd op www.fablab.nl [nog even geduld]. Die week is er een zeer compleet FabLab ingericht in 'De Factorij' waar alle activiteiten plaatsvinden. Van 20-23 oktober is er een FabLab Conference in Toulouse. Ook hier is ProtoSpace aanwezig en geven we 2 verschillende lezingen met de nadruk op direct 3D printen van design; terwijl je erop wacht: "€ 1,- per minute design" en de rol van ProtoSpace bij het succes van de Ultimaker. Tijdens de conferentie wordt ter plekke ook daadwerkelijk een Ultimaker gebouwd.
Teambuilding en maatwerkevenementen
WorkshopsVrijdag 2 december a.s. vinden er twee workshops plaats in de lounge en het lab van ProtoSpace. In de middag leer je met de ‘Basiscursus FabLab’ hoe je de belangrijkste FabLab machines moet bedienen. 's Ochtends is er een introductieworkshop voor 2D en 3D tekenen. Er wordt gefocust op 2 pakketten: Inkscape (2D) en Google SketchUp (3D).
FabLab, augmentedNow at ProtoSpace: what can the lab tell you that you can't see with the naked eye. FabLab++ is an augmented reality concept realized for the Layar Vision Challenge competition - winners will be announced next week. See the video or try it out yourself on your next visit to ProtoSpace. Just install the latest version of the Layar browser on your smartphone or upgrade an existing installation to enable the new Vision features (available soon). Then find the Layer called "Fablab++" or scan this code (also found at the ProtoSpace lounge) and explore the lab with new eyes!

We kunnen standaard workshops aanbieden, maar ook een specifieke workshop 'op maat' ontwikkelen die aansluit bij de interesses in de groep. Een unieke workshop is het bouwen van een Ultimaker met een groep in 1 dag. Met 10 tot 20 personen bouw je één 3D printer die je aan het eind van de dag mee kan nemen.
