De zomer is weer begonnen. Nieuwe ontwikkelingen, nieuwe ideeën, kom ze realiseren bij ProtoSpace | Fablab Utrecht. We zijn de gehele zomer geopend. Verder in deze nieuwsbrief: nieuwe masterclass 'bouw je eigen 3D printer', beschikbare stageplekken, lunchlezing en teambuilding & maatwerkevenementen.
 

Stageplekken

ProtoSpace heeft weer een aantal stageplaatsen beschikbaar. We zoeken altijd een divers gezelschap aan stagiaires om het team te versterken, zodat we de verschillende plannen en ideeën die we bij ProtoSpace hebben gestalte kunnen geven.

Teambuilding en maatwerkevenementen

ProtoSpace organiseert regelmatig maatwerkevenementen voor diverse groepen of bedrijven. We kunnen standaard workshops aanbieden, maar ook een specifieke workshop 'op maat' ontwikkelen die aansluit bij de interesses in de groep. Voor een hele dag of een middag kunnen we een compleet programma creëren voor groepen van 8 tot ca. 30 personen. Techniek, nieuwe inzichten, teambuilding en inspiratie komen samen bij ProtoSpace. Lunchlezing

Reinder de Vries van Interactionauts [www.interactionauts.com] presenteert op 7 juli a.s. de NOOT GUI. Een applicatie waarmee materiaal (foto, audio) verzameld in een brainstormsessie geordend en gemanipuleerd kan worden, waardoor de deelnemer actief bezig kan zijn met het resultaat en tot nieuwe inzichten kan komen. Aan bod komt de aanleiding, het proces en een demo van het resultaat.
Iedere 1e donderdag van de maand organiseren we een lunchlezing. De lezingen starten om 13.00 uur in de lounge. Voor 5 euro kun je ook meelunchen als je je hebt aangemeld op donderdag voor 11.00 uur.

Masterclass Ultimaker IV in 4 vrijdagen

We zijn niet te stoppen! Vrijdag 7 oktober start de volgende masterclass. In 4 dagen[!] verspreid over 4 weken wordt de Ultimaker, een zelfbouw 3D printer, tot een werkende machine gebouwd.
De Ultimaker is een nieuw en verbeterd ontwerp van de RepRap. Eenvoudiger, robuuster, steviger en nauwkeuriger. Bovendien kan het nieuwe ontwerp, vergeleken met de originele RepRap, 2x zo grote voorwerpen printen, terwijl de machine aan de buitenkant kleiner is.

Er zijn 4 bijeenkomsten, 7, 14,  21 en 28 oktober van 9.30 tot 16.30 uur. De totale kosten voor de masterclass bedragen 1.400,- euro excl. BTW [1.666,- euro incl. BTW]. Dit is inclusief alle onderdelen van de machine. Officieel inschrijven kan door een mail te sturen aan info@protospace.nl met vermelding van naam deelnemer, adres, woonplaats en telefoonnummer. Na aanmelding ontvang je een factuur voor een aanbetaling van 700,- euro.

ProtoSpace on the road

This past month ProtoSpace was present at and traveled to a few places - DMY Berlin to greet some fellow Finnish makers (where one of us is from), Ireland to share inspiration and information from ProtoSpace and Dutch Fablabs and Berlin again to give a talk about FabMoments here at ProtoSpace and our international project sharing efforts so far - read the full story.
In six weeks time ProtoSpace will be at FAB 7 in Lima, Peru, where the 7th international FabLab conference takes place this year. Last year FAB 6 here in the Netherland was a big success and gathered fablabbers from everywhere in the country and the whole world. More information at: http://fab7.pe/

FabMoments Competition - the winner of 1 hour of cutting time on the big laser is...

We also chose to reward these projects to show that even with a simple project and a little extra effort to explain your project can go a long way to inspire others.

- We want to continue stimulating your documentation!
- Improve our documentation here, so that Fablabs all over the world get some positive examples for also starting to share their projects more and more. 
- Really live up to the spirit of the Fablabs where it's not just about free lasercutting but sharing your fun and projects with others elsewhere in the world. 
- Open design is coming (see the book!) and this is the perfect place to a good feel of it!
