templates for spray-can/airbrush patterns
Today I visited FabLab Utrecht / ProtoSpace for the first time to experiment a little with the lasercutter.
Coming weekend 11th of October 2008 we will RE-CREATE numerous stuff from citizens of the Utrecht quarter 'Overvecht', see for details the invitation below.

One of the RE-CREATE designers, Nine Geertman from www.nine.nu,designed patterns based on Dutch icons like the tulip flower, wooden shoes and the famous Dutch tool 'kaasschaaf'. We would like to spray-can/airbrush these patterns on people's old furniture that they bring with them coming weekend, so I tried to cut patterns in carton. This worked out very well [see pictures].
The help at FabLab/ProtoSpace was great today. Low threshold and after a few minutes you're invited to operate the tools yourself. Great place to experiment, I'll come back for other stuff.
As promised, the invitation:
RE-CREATE (yourself) in your neighbourhood
Drop by with stuff that is in need of a make-over and have it RE-CREATED by talented local residents and artists.
We will fill your empty picture frame with a piece of art, a boring T-shirt is turned into a collector’s item and your functional walker becomes a party animal on wheels. Surprise us with your stuff and we will surprise you with a make-over. We RE-CREATE everything that isn’t nailed down!
Drop by with your belongings during the special RE-CREATE days. Take a look at our site www.ver-maak.nl for dates and locations or mail us through our site or call +31-30-2447670. You determine how long it takes, e.g. 10 minutes. You can wait or take a tour of other funny things happening in the building.
RE-CREATE is for anyone who has stuff; young and old, neighbours and friends, grandpa’s and little sisters. So take everyone and everything with you!
Kindest regards,
Sander Mulder
