Testing modelfacades

For a building model scale 1:200 we tested different
material (combinations) under the laser cutter.

See the results!

Conclusion:
we will laser cut the pp and wood veneer separately.
 Glue them together afterwards (test6)

Test 1 - acrylic components in plywood
acrylic melts: window frames will become to small to fill the wholes of the
plywood entirely.
You get a more handcraft like result

Test 2 - foil on acrylic
The foil stretches so the holes will not stay in place. The result is not the
same over the whole facade.

Test 3 – wood veneer on foam
The foam melts by cutting the veneer

Test 4 – wood veneer on pp
To cut the pp you need so much power that the veneer burns

Test5 – wood veneer on acrylic
nice

Test 6 – wood veneer and pp cut separately
nicest result
